ABCDogs is run by Helen Fayers and her team. Helen has over 25 years experience working with dogs and puppies. She started her career as a veterinary nurse and soon discovered a special passion and skill for working with problems dogs and also training puppies. Helen has also fostered and rehabilitated rescue dogs and puppies for the last twenty years. She decided to branch out on her own a few years ago and turned her passion into a fulltime occupation. She now runs various dog and puppy classes, one-2-one dog training sessions, behaviour modification programmes for dogs with issues and a small personal dog day-care service. In addition to this, she is the ”in-house” behaviourist for Frean and Smythe veterinary surgeons and runs their puppy pre-school programme at their North Cheam practice. ABC Dogs’ philosophy is based on educating dog owners with a better and clearer understanding of how their dog works. We demonstrate that having a well-behaved dog is easily attainable by teaching the dog calmness and manners rather than traditional obedience. Helen believes most issues between dogs and their owners stem from an inappropriate relationship: Address this relationship with consistency, fairness and understanding and good changes can occur for both the owner and their dog. All our training is positive, reward/play based.
